Questions & Answers
- How long should I plan for my visit?
Campus visits take a minimum of two hours. If you want to meet with athletics, audition for performing arts, eat lunch, or sit in on a class, please plan for longer.
- Where do I park?
Parking on campus is free and plentiful! There are four spots reserved as Future Jimmies parking across the street from the Badal Nafus Building that houses Admissions. When arriving through the Main (west) gates of campus, stay right until you come to a stop sign. Turn left (north) on Westminster Lane. The reserved parking is marked by orange signs at your first right.
- Who all can I meet with? What all can I do on my visit?
You tell us! A standard campus visit involves meeting with your Admissions Counselor, meeting with a professor in your subject area, and a campus tour. In addition, you can request to meet with or audition for Performing Arts, visit with athletics, eat lunch in Knight Hall, or even sit in on a class!
- I requested a visit. When will I get my full itinerary?
Visits are planned specially for YOU. It takes a minimum of two business days to confirm all parts of your visit. We try our best to email your itinerary out no less than 24 hours in advance.
- I got my itinerary, but something I wanted to do isn't listed.
We try our best to make your time on campus the most fulfilling it can be! Sometimes, though, professors or certain coaches aren't available. If you want to sit in on a class, you'll need to visit M-F Between September-April.
- What if I have to reschedule?
No problem, life happens! Just text your Admissions Counselor or email erin.boese@uj.edu.
- I want to take in a sporting or performing arts event when I'm there. Can I?
Yes! If you'd like to attend any Jimmie athletic event or UJ concert, play, or performance while you're here, simply let us know and we will provide you with free passes.
- I'm coming from out of town. Any lodging recommendations?
Jamestown has many great hotels including the Fairfield Inn & Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, Holiday Inn Express, and Gladstone Inn. Mention you're visiting UJ for possible discounts!
- What if my interests change before my visit?
Did you sign up as a Business major but recently decide to study Education? Let us know and we'll try our best to update your professor visit and add or subtract any other necessary items to your itinerary!
